The living world can also provide energy that is clean and cost effective. Bioenergy can be produced in the form of heat, as well as liquid and gaseous fuels. “Biofuels” can be produced in the form of biodiesel, which can be mixed with fossil diesel, and ethanol, which can be mixed with gasoline. Sources of these fuels can be from new plantations, or from organic waste.
Other renewable energy systems are based on the energy in wind, deep in the earth, and the oceans.
